📋 Phase 1: Core Eligibility & Document Checklist

The High Commission of India categorizes OCI applications by eligibility path. Collect these mandatory documents before opening the online portal:

Route 1: Former Indian Citizens

• Indian Passport Surrender Certificate: The original certificate and cancelled passport booklet.
• British Passport: Your current valid British passport.

Step 1: Online Government Portal Registration
